![]() At Little Landmines Pet Waste Removal, our mission goes beyond simply providing pet waste management services. We are deeply committed to making a positive impact on our community, particularly by creating opportunities and empowering individuals with disabilities, especially those with autism. This mission is personal to us, and we'd like to share the story behind our "why." Many folks don't know our owner, Jennifer, was a tech and the client coordinator behind the company for many years, before being given the opportunity to purchase the company when the founder/owner continued her other business endeavors (which by the way, she is an amazing mentor and still helps us!). Jennifer took the chance and it has been a labor of love, and a lot of poop, but mostly love! :) Our journey is deeply intertwined with our family's experiences. Our 11 1/2 year old son Dylan, who is autistic, has been a constant source of inspiration. Watching him navigate the world with resilience and determination has taught us the importance of creating opportunities for individuals like him. His strength and unique perspective have driven us to build a company that not only values diversity but actively supports and uplifts those who often face barriers to opportunities. From the very beginning, Little Landmines has been dedicated to providing meaningful work to teens and adults with disabilities. We believe that everyone deserves a chance to work, contribute, and feel valued. Our scoop techs are not just part of our team; they are the heart and soul of this business, and we make sure they know this every day. Their dedication and hard work have helped shape Little Landmines into the successful and compassionate company it is today. Opportunities for a diverse team of workers creates a pathway to independence, confidence, and a sense of purpose. For individuals with autism and other disabilities, finding supportive and understanding employers can be challenging! We offer a nurturing work environment where everyone can thrive, learn new skills, and build meaningful relationships. We also match our autistic team members up with the best jobs for them, from proximity to their home, to cultivating relationships with our clients who we know work in a sector that gives them a higher sense of understanding why this is so important to us. We partner with autism schools and organizations to create opportunities and support systems that make a real difference. We love having interns with us for rotations with area schools, and then watching them either find their dream career or work alongside us! Whatever they decide, we support. By doing so, we hope to contribute to a more inclusive and compassionate community and when our son is old enough, he too can carry on the legacy of Little Landmines. At Little Landmines Pet Waste Removal, our "why" is clear. We are here to provide exceptional service while creating opportunities for those who need them most. Together, we can build a community where everyone has the chance to shine! Embrace neurodivergence and be inclusive to all, it's a win-win!

![]() In the heartwarming world of animal rescue, organizations like Almost Home Dog Rescue shine brightly, offering hope and compassion to our furry friends in need. Today, we delve into their mission, their impact, and the stories of love and transformation they bring to countless dogs and families. Almost Home Dog Rescue is a non-profit, foster-based, all volunteer rescue organization dedicated to rescuing and rehabilating dogs at risk and in danger of an untimely death. They all share the passion of helping these homeless dogs who don’t have a voice, who won’t have a chance, without organizations such as this one, helping them to a new beginning. It is their mission to seek out dogs where there is need, to bring them to us where they are placed in loving foster homes and prepare them for their forever families. It is also their mission to prepare our adoptive families for a smooth transition and a better outcome. Their community outreach program will offer New Adopter classes whether you adopt from them or not, which is amazing! Almost Home Dog Rescue's impact extends beyond rescuing and rehoming dogs. They actively engage with the community, hosting adoption events, fundraisers, and educational workshops on responsible pet ownership. Their dedication to promoting compassion towards animals and advocating for their welfare is truly commendable. Supporting Almost Home Dog Rescue is a meaningful way to make a difference in the lives of dogs in need. Whether through donations, volunteering, fostering, or adopting, every act of kindness contributes to their mission of saving and transforming lives. One such success story is Penny, a mama dog who was found abandoned at a gas station. Thanks to Almost Home Dog Rescue's care and attention, Penny not only regained her health but also found a loving family eager to give her the love she deserved. And guess what? It was us, your Little Landmines family! Penny was with us for 3 wonderful years before she succumbed to an aggressive cancer. We made sure those 3 years were the best of her life, and we miss her dearly! Almost Home Dog Rescue stands as a beacon of hope and compassion, reminding us of the power of love and second chances. Through their tireless efforts and unwavering dedication, they continue to change the lives of dogs and families, one rescue at a time. Join hands with them in their mission, and together, let's make a world where every dog finds their forever home.
